About the artist

Susanne is an Edmonton-based artist who has been drawing since she could pick up a crayon, most often of people, fine-tuning her skills on every piece of paper or napkin she could find, and eventually on her homework, drawing cartoons of her teachers at school. 

A graduate of the Visual Communications Graphic Design program at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton, she expanded her skills with classes in photography, typography, figure drawing, and 3-dimensional design.

Over the past 30+ years, Susanne has created 1000's of caricatures at festivals, birthdays, wedding receptions and corporate parties all over Alberta, drawing one face every 6 minutes and meeting many interesting people.

Susanne also gets so much joy creating pencil portraits -  a labour of love and patience, requiring hours for each face.

When not doodling, Susanne is also a musician (on keys with a band), karaoke singer, community theatre actor, pie baker and mom of 2.
